Adding insult to injury: Stacy McCain took a video of Michele Bachmann at a rally in Iowa.  Some liberal jerks took the video, mis-edited it (by putting a racist remark in the place of a benign one), and then attributed the remark to Bachmann – without attributing the video to Stacy.

Instapundit and law professor Glenn Reynolds suggested that Stacy sue “Everybody in sight”.  Far be if for me to add to the professor’s good advice, but I must say: the hack job liberals were hardly concerned with the truth, justice, or the law when they stole your video and smeared Michele Bachmann by distorting her words.  When filing your lawsuits, use about the same level of concern – or rather, just enough concern to enough to avoid being smacked with a 12(b)(6) motion.  Or even if you are, hell, they’ll have to spend a few thousand on attorney’s fees doing that, which may incent them to take more care with the law and the truth the next time they go ripping off people’s videos and mis-quoting nice Midwestern foster mothers.
